When should I hire a Wedding Planner? Any stage of your Wedding planning process is the "right time". If you are feeling stressed and not enjoying your engagement, it may be time to inquire with a wedding planner. This is why planners offer Full Planning, Partial Planning or Day-Of coordination, for any stage.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve? We are based in Asheville, NC but will travel throughout Western North Carolina and beyond...please inquire with us for your destination.
Do you work with destination brides? Absolutely! Asheville is known for it's destination weddings, and we specialize in just that. We can work with you in many capacities in other locations as well. I'll make sure you are kept well informed, regardless of where your wedding is taking place.
Are you a Certified Wedding Planner? YES. Although I had years of experience before going out on my own in 2006, I felt the need to acquire my certification. I took a terrific Wedding Planning course at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
How long have you been in business? Weddings by Wendy was established in 2006, but my planning experience spans over two decades.
How would you rate your problem-solving skills? Excellent! I'm even better at using preventative measures so that problems are less likely to arise. I can't imagine being a wedding planner without the ability to foresee, plan, and therefore prevent many issues that can arise.
How many wedding clients do you take on in a year? How many will you have the month of our wedding? I limit myself to 15 weddings a year. I want each and every couple to feel they are receiving my undivided attention. You will work with me throughout the planning process and I will be fully present the day of your wedding. Odds are that I will have 1-2 weddings per month depending on the season. Rest assured, I will not be coordinating another wedding on your wedding day, or even that same weekend.
Is Wedding Planning your full time job? I am very happy to say YES!
Are we required to book only wedding professionals you recommend? Do we have the freedom to work with professionals even if you have not worked with them before? My wedding professional referrals are those that I feel will do the best job for you, based on your wants and needs. However, it is YOUR day...you absolutely have the freedom to hire whomever you wish. I will review their services with you, join you on your meeting with them if you like, and give you my best advice on whether they are the right fit. But ultimately, the choice is yours.
After we give you our budget, will you provide us with a breakdown of how our money should be allocated? I will work with you very closely on budget management. We will decide together the importance of each category (i.e. flowers, entertainment, photography, etc) and allocate dollar figures to each category. Trust me, this will change throughout the process, and we will adjust accordingly. But in the end, my goal is to have you stay within your budget.
Will you invoice us for vendor fees, or do we pay them ourselves? I do not handle vendor payments other than to deliver final payments on your behalf on your wedding day...per your request, of course. I will keep you on track with when/how much is due your vendors in the planning process, but that is the extent of my vendor payment involvement.
Once we decide to hire Weddings by Wendy, how do we secure your services? Based on the package that you choose, I will send you a digital contract for your review/signature. Along with the signed contract I require a 50% down payment. I will hold a date for one week until I receive both your contract and deposit.
